Culross and St. Andrews
Our tour group left Edinburgh and traveled into the Scottish countryside. The first stop was the quaint village of Culross. Some of the 17th century cottages and buildings are still used as private residences, shops or pubs. I felt like a time traveler while strolling the cobble stone streets and lovely gardens.
St. Andrews was next. It is the site of Scotland’s oldest university; the place where British Prince William met his wife, Kate Middleton. St. Andrews is also famous to golfers worldwide. “The Old Course” is there, where every 5 years the British Open is played. As if the university and golf course were not enough there are picturesque medieval ruins nestled on the towns’ beautiful seashores.
